Laser Hair Removal – How Does it Work?
During the treatment, a wavelength of lighting is released into the skin to disrupt the nourishment required to encourage hair growth. The light changes to heat, and this damages the hair follicles at the root. We use medical-grade lasers to complete the process, and this works to reduce the speed at which hair regrows within the area that is treated. In contrast, the texture of the hair will be reduced.
How Soon are Results Seen?
It is essential to target the hair at the right time during the growth cycle to disrupt the hair’s nourishment. The hairs will be targeted individually in different stages of the hair growth cycle at the beginning of your treatment. This means that you will require several sessions to target the hair during the right phase of growth.
Number of Sessions?
On average, we recommend around 6-12 sessions that are spaced approximately 4-6 weeks apart. However, this is dependent on the area that is being treated. A bespoke treatment plan will be created during your free consultation with our therapist, and this will ensure you achieve the desired results.
Is laser hair removal painful?
Most people who have the treatment say that it is painless, but there might be some discomfort. There can be unusual sensations felt during the treatment, such as a pinging of the skin and warmth. However, the lasers that we use have a particular cooling device that keeps the area cool during treatment. This is especially important when treating specific areas such as the facial area.
