WHY IS SKINCARE IMPORTANT?

A skincare routine should be considered a non-negotiable. It is a vitally important part of your selfcare. It will give you confidence, more esteem, more worth and the more you put into your skin in terms of care and quality products, the more you will get out in terms of results.

A good skincare routine can help prevent and address issues like dryness, acne, rosacea, ageing and sun damage. A regular, consistent routine leads to healthier, more resilient skin.

WHAT IS A TYPICAL SKINCARE ROUTINE?

It should consist of cleansing, treating and hydrating morning and night with the correct prescribed products that suit you. A recommended routine would be:

Morning

  • Cleanse Gently cleanse your skin to remove impurities.
  • Targeted Serum Apply a serum designed to address your specific skin concerns, such as hydration, brightening or anti-ageing.
  • Moisturise Lock in hydration with a lightweight, nourishing moisturiser.
  • SPF Finish with a broad spectrum SPF to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.

Evening

  • Cleanse Thoroughly cleanse to remove make-up, dirt and pollutants.
  • Targeted Serum Use a serum rich in active ingredients to repair and renew your skin overnight.
  • Moisturise Apply a hydrating moisturiser to support skin recovery while you sleep.

WHY ARE MEDICAL GRADE PRODUCTS IMPORTANT?

They penetrate deeper into the skin, making them more effective, giving maximum benefit and less irritation. Medical grade skincare is formulated with clinical precision, using higher concentrates and more researched active ingredients.

They are backed by dermatologists and undergo rigorous testing. High Street products may seem inviting, however they have a habit of promising solutions to problems that you may not be experiencing. Using medical grade products with the correct recommendation ensures a more cost effective and consistent personal journey.

CORRECT COMBINATION OF SKINCARE PRODUCTS

USING THE CORRECT COMBINATION OF PRODUCTS

It can be daunting and overwhelming deciding which products to choose from the huge range on the market. You will be recommended products from friends or see a celebrity endorse a product in an advert. However, everyone’s skin is different, it has different texture, tone and will react differently to different products.

This is why a tailored plan from one of our trained skin experts is essential. They will recommend the right products for your needs and goals. It isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. Using the wrong products can irritate your skin or worsen existing concerns. The right products can deliver noticeable improvements and protect against future damage.

ACIDS

Acid is the buzzword in skin care but using acids effectively requires knowledge and confidence, especially with medical-grade products. With professional guidance and the right products, acids can rejuvenate, hydrate, and transform skin safely, offering results that high-street alternatives often cannot match.
Glycolic Acid
Glycolic Acid Is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) derived from sugarcane. Glycolic acid is known for its small molecular structure, allowing it to penetrate deeply into the skin. It exfoliates by dissolving dead skin cells, boosting cell turnover, and minimising fine lines, dark spots, and acne scars. Its potency makes it ideal for those aiming for a clearer, more even complexion.
Lactic Acid
Lactic acid Is a gentler AHA lactic acid is derived from milk and suitable for more sensitive skin. It gently exfoliates and improves skin texture while also supporting hydration, making it ideal for both brightening and softening.
Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water, it is essential for deep hydration, plumping fine lines and smoothing the skin. It works well with both glycolic and lactic acids.

USING SPF

Abbey Clancy said using SPF is her “top tip” for skin care, regardless of the season. “My top tip is SPF,” she said on the Therapy Couch podcast. “I don’t put anything of me in the sun. It’s so important to look after your skin.”
Application of SPF for the face is essential for protecting the harmful effects of UV radiation. SPF helps prevent, hyperpigmentation, premature ageing and reducing the risk of Skin Cancer by blocking UV rays before they penetrate and damage your skin.
